Beginning on photography with a Nikon F2 15 years ago, photography has always been an engine and a wire conductor throughout my travels, my ascents to the mountains, as well as in my daily life. I continued my path through digital, always with Nikon. The photography is not only an enclosure, a goal and a draw, it is my view that discovers and lurks the slightest detail subject to photography.

 

To the wire of my trips, I have concentrated on the urban environment, focus on the lines of the buildings and the prospects of each element of the decor. I am always placing in a view angle favoring of dizzying lines, in order to bring my gaze and the spectators one as far as possible.

I privileged very often the choice of black and white for this theme, the contrasts are even more impressive. In addition to the buildings, the actors of the city also offer me valuable inspirations that enthral me and that I appreciate very much as the subject photo. I chose characters with strong features.

 

My training is multiple, since the latter is not only theoretical. In addition of courses and an education in plastic arts, as well as the hours in a darkroom, my greater culture of photography has been made within the countries that I have discovered; through their diversity, their landscapes, their cities and their populations. I have travelled to many different countries (North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, Central Asia, South Asia and the Far East).

 

My path as an amateur photographer is distinguished by my many taken of views abroad. Finally, in my profession, a marriage between urban planning and the development of public transportation in the city, pushes me naturally to link the photography and the urban environment.

Le vieux et robuste Nikon F2 a été mon premier compagnon. Il l’est toujours, bien que je sois passé au boitier numérique. Son grain unique le laisse dans une case à part. La photographie a toujours été un fil conducteur lors de mon quotidien, de mes voyages et de mes ascensions en montagne. La photo n’est pas seulement un boitier, un objectif et un tirage, elle représente mon regard sujet à une image capturée.

Au fil de mes voyages, je me suis concentré sur la photographie en milieu urbain, en mettant l'accent sur les lignes des bâtiments et les perspectives de chaque élément du décor. Je me place toujours dans un angle de  prise de vue favorisant des lignes vertigineuses, afin de porter mon regard et celui des spectateurs le plus loin possible.

 

Je privilégie très souvent le choix du noir et blanc pour cette thématique, les contrastes y sont encore plus saisissants. Outre les bâtiments, les acteurs de la ville m'offrent aussi de précieux viatiques que j’apprécie beaucoup comme sujet photo. Je choisis des personnages aux traits forts.

 

Ma formation est multiple, puisque celle-ci n’est pas seulement théorique. Outre des cours et une éducation en arts-plastiques, ainsi que des heures en chambre noire, ma plus grande culture de la photographie s’est faite au sein des pays que j’ai découverts. J’ai voyagé dans de nombreux pays (Amérique du Nord, Amérique centrale, Amérique du Sud, Europe, Europe de l’Est, Pays du Caucase, Asie Centrale, Asie du Sud et Extrême-Orient). Mon parcours de photographe amateur se distingue donc par mes prises de vues à l’étranger. Enfin, mon métier, un mariage entre l’urbanisme et le transport en commun en ville, me pousse naturellement à lier la photographie et le milieu urbain.
